Our services include: cabin supply with base and cabin installation, bespoke cabin design, cabin construction, timber fencing and repair, re-covering cabin roofs, timber 5 bar gates and side gates.  We also remove any unwanted soil and other subsurface material (spoil) within quotation prices.  Any electrical installations including feeds from consumer units and armoured cabling are quoted separately.

The most important material preparation before installing your cabin is an appropriate and secure cabin base.  Even if regularly treated a cabin in UK weather will not last long if the base isn't dry, stable and strong enough to support the weight of the cabin and its intended contents.  This applies to any timber feature hosted in your garden.  Laying cabin floor bearers directly onto soil is the worst option that homeowners can chose; even if the timber bearers are treated they will start to rot within a short time especially when wet weather sets in.  Investing in a new timber cabin needs to be well considered with a base that will ensure it lasts for the years ahead to enjoy.  Loose paving slabs used as a base  are another easy option but they tend to shift with time and this leads to damp ingress and uneven support of the bearers. 

At Timber Cabins Store we only use the base option below which will help ensure the cabin lasts the years ahead for you to enjoy.

Concrete base with steel reinforcement on hardcore, then sand sublayers with Damp Proof Membrane (DPM). Total depth of base including hard core, sand, DPM and concrete is 300mm with 50mm above ground.
